Pujya Swamiji and Sadhviji Grace DGB Pittsburgh Indian Senior Center
HH Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji and Sadhvi Bhagawatiji graced the DGB Pittsburgh Indian Senior Center to honour and celebrate the area’s many NRI families, senior citizens and retirees. The Center, which was established to help senior citizens of Indian origin continue to live independently, also helps the Indian diaspora in western Pennsylvania to feel comfortable and at home in their later years.
Pujya Sadhviji said, “The need for spirituality is greater in old age because spirituality goes with us while the body remains here. Our relationships, identity, everyone we know and everything we have earned remain here. Only spirituality goes with us. By being spiritual, we can know our soul before taking the last breath. And if we are spiritual then only those thoughts will go with us – everything else we will leave behind.”
Pujya Swamiji and Pujya Sadhviji also offered an important message of environmental conservation and preservation by planting beautiful saplings on the Center’s grounds, and by leading a pledge with all of the residents and guests to keep their values and culture alive. They also invited the assemblage to return Home to Parmarth to join the Parivar for Ganga ji Darshan and Ganga Aarti.
