At the inaugural session of the Ekal Vidyalaya Annual General Membership meeting in Rishikesh, Chief Guest Pujya Sadhviji joined the beautiful gathering of Shakti for an important discussion about protecting and educating women and girls so that they can play a leadership roll in building and protecting their communities. The august group – part of the National Ladies Wing of the Friends of Tribal Society – promotes education and motivation for tribal and village populations, and Sadhviji’s well-received message included inspiring words about those topics, as well as the importance of conserving water and protecting the environment and empowering tribal and village Shakti to lead the way in transforming their communities.
The Friends of Tribal Society is a Non-governmental, Voluntary Organisation, Committed towards the upliftment of the deprived underprivileged in rural & tribal masses in India Since 1989. Their goal is social revolution through education and, in 36 Chapters throughout India, their programs and initiatives – through the more than 100,000 members of the Ekal Vidyalaya collective – have touched the lives of over 2,632,065 Students in rural areas throughout the nation.
