Warm Blankets Wrap Rishikumars with Love & Care

On the auspicious occasion of Bhai Dooj during a special five day Diwali celebrations, as the weather begins to turn colder in Rishikesh, beautiful, soft and fluffy blankets were distributed by Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji and Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, devotees and sevaks from India and abroad to all of our young Rishikumars as gifts to help keep them warm during the upcoming winter season. A few of the very first blankets this season were distributed earlier a few days ago on Dhanteras when the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shri Trivendra Singh Rawatji visited Parmarth. He was glad to see the beautiful spirit of giving was in full spring at the ashram.

During Bhai Dooj, Pujya Swamiji spoke with the young students, and encouraged them to cultivate sweetness and compassion in their lives. He also shared with them the Hindu tradition of cleaning on Diwali, and the importance of keeping their blankets and their things nicely in their rooms. He said that just as they are being given such love and gifts so to is it their responsibility as they grow now to give it forward to others.

Sadhvi Bhagawatiji also spoke to the students about how the blankets will keep their bodies warm but their spiritual connection will keep their hearts warm. She emphasized the power of the mantras they learn to chant and said, “these are not just mantras to learn as a job in school. These mantras are the magic and the miracle for your lives, and through your role of chanting them you can bring magic and miracles to others.” She also emphasized how the real prosperity and abundance of Maha Lakshmi is not in what we get but in how much we can give. As they have been given so much, they should become the ambassadors to serve humanity.

Pujya Swamiji and Sadhviji especially thanked the Lakhani family- Mandaben, Kaneshbhai and Shreya for caring for and serving their global family – a Diwali not for just our limited nuclear families but our expanded world family, ensuring the arms of our abundance and generosity expand and include all.

On the occasion Bharat Mitraji from Organic India joined with his team and devotees and sevaks from over a dozen countries including America, UK, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, Uruguay, Israel and others exhibited how this special traditions and festivals in India are a beautiful coming together of people from all walks of life.
