Sadhviji’s Divine Birthday Celebrations
Sadhvi Bhagawatiji’s blessed, blissful and beautiful birthday celebration started like any other day, with her being dedicated to service of God’s Divine Grace, with her active engagement in many projects and programmes that are flourishing and thriving under her leadership and tenacious dedication. In honour of her birthday, many members of the Global Interfaith WASH Alliance, Divine Shakti Foundation-Parmarth Niketan joined together to wish her a green birthday with an organic and green birthday salad, fresh from Parmarth Niketan’s organic farm in Veerpur.
The salad was also a symbol of Sadhvi Bhagawatiji’s green living and strong beliefs in leading a life that treads lightly on the planet, while mindfully reducing our carbon and water footprint, and one that is least violent to our external and internal environment. As she often shares, one of the most fundamental and pivotal ways to do so is by leading a Vegetarian lifestyle, which is also one of the strongest actions one can take to abate and prevent global warming. During the evening she performed the sacred yagna ceremony, during the purnahuti (concluding part of the yagna) offering a dry coconut into the divine fire, as a symbol of offering the body as a divine vessel into the divine fire of service.
Pujya Swamiji blessed her with a sacred Rudraksh plant as a symbol of her spirit of giving. Parmarth Rishikumars and the Parmarth family honoured her with flowers and a beautiful sanskrit birthday song.
Afterward, there was beautiful music of oneness and love that were sung in her honour, both in Hebrew and in Sanskrit. Gil Ron Shama and his beautiful team of artists sang songs with such deep meaning and deep love that brought tears of joy to everyone’s eyes. Rabbi Awraham Soetendorp, Co-founder of Global Interfaith WASH Alliance (GIWA), President & Founder, Jacob Soetendorp Institute for Human Values, and his wife blessed Sadhviji in the great work that she is doing in service of humanity.
Pujya Swamiji shared that when Sadhviji had first come to India, her family, especially her grandma, thought she had perhaps gone mad. They tried to convince her when she was again in the states that she could go to Isreal, also a holy land,so why India? But as Pujya Swamiji said, today Isreal had come to her on the banks of Mother Ganga and that today her grandmother must be present in spirit and must be so, so proud of raising such an incredible soul.
The evening came to an end with a beautiful satsang that she led, in Pujya Swamiji’s divine presence, helping and guiding seekers more deeply on their path to self-realization. A three-tier cake was also shared with all the Parmarth Rishikumars and all the pilgrims in celebration of the beautiful occasion.
