In 1996, Pujya Sadhvi was a 25-year-old white, Jewish, Stanford educated young woman, from Hollywood, in the midst of her PhD when she travelled to India with a backpack, because her husband wanted to go and because she loved Indian food. Twenty-five years later she has become a monastic in the Vedic tradition, a teacher of meditation and spirituality, an activist in the fields of humanitarian work and development, and a unique female voice of spiritual leadership throughout India and the world.
