Distractions & the Monkey Mind

How can I maintain discipline when there are so many distractions in the world? Pujya Sad Sadhvi Bhagawati ji shares that the scriptures have been talking about distractions and “the monkey mind” for thousands of years (way before our tablets and cell phones). The distractions are different but the teaching is the same: discipline and practice. Understand that everything we want to do, if we want to do it well, we have to practice. Going within and taming the mind is actually going into the source and the truth of who you are. It’s rather going back to who you are rather than becoming something new. The problem is when we let the mind go wherever it wants to go you lose control completely, and this is why discipline is required. Discipline yourself, your actions, your sleep, what you eat, the whole life. Try to bring about a full life discipline, a whole new way of leaving and slowly you’ll get it under control.
