Why do Hindus wear a red dot on their foreheads? Is it makeup? Does it mean a woman is married? There are so many myths and misunderstandings about the tilak which is actually a sacred and powerful ritual. As we apply tilak it’s also a prayer to the Divine that we may see from our third eye, the eye of Truth, rather than only from our two physical eyes which see falsehood and separation.
