Ecstasy of Katha

Do you think that you need more money, more convenience, more luxury to be happy? Does happiness seem always an arm’s length away as you grab and grasp for more acclaim, more appreciation, more prestige, more opportunity? We all know that these are not actually the answer to happiness but it’s so hard to remember that. In this divine teaching, Sadhviji shares her personal experience this summer sitting in the beautiful Ramayana Katha (the recitation of the Ramayana with song and dance over many days or weeks) as she watches the audience dance in ecstasy. Those without any money, or any power or prestige, or any name or fame. Those who have never even ridden in a car let alone owned one…. Yet their absolute ecstasy simply listening to the story of the Divine incarnation and the abandon with which they sing and dance is such a deep lesson for us all. It reminds Sadhviji, and through her we all remember, that we can actually be deeply happy without the fanciest food or the biggest home or the newest, most expensive car, because happiness comes from something so much deeper than any of those things!
