Green Crematorium

Sadhviji speaks about the last rites ceremony in Hinduism and its traditional roots. She also shares the great environmental stress that is resulting due to the practice, especially in the context of India’s booming population as well as an exponentially increasing demand on distribution of its natural resources. She also shares that a green, eco-crematorium technology has been developed which is different from an electric crematorium but designed in a way that actually is more effective than a traditional pyre and therefore saves 60% of the wood required in the traditional practice. She shares that the green crematorium offers a viable alternative and significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the traditional process while respecting and honouring the loved ones sentiments and religious practices, becoming a beautiful bridge between the old and the new.
