How the Ego creates Confusion

We pray to God to ask for awakening and then after receiving an answer we begin to doubt. The ego loves to create confusion because frequently the voice of God is a voice that pulls us away from what everyone else is doing or what we’ve always done or what culture and society said to do. The ego comes in because the ego realizes that its reign and control is going to come to an end, so or course, the ego creates confusion. It wouldn’t be the ego if it didn’t do so.
