NEVER AGAIN: Sadhviji’s Moving Holocaust Remembrance Message
In a powerful and emotional Mohammed V International Forum for Tolerance and Peace message, Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawatiji joined interfaith leaders and motivators from around the world to commemorate one of the most deplorable periods in human history – the systematic and premeditated murder of over 6 million Jews in Nazi concentration camps during World War II.
In her inspired discourse, Sadhviji so compassionately explained the root causes leading up to this tragic episode – “It [was] rooted in personal and national discontent. Dissatisfaction. Loss. Failure. Poverty. The situation in pre-World War II Germany. The arms of discontent reach out in search of scapegoats. Those arms found the Jews…It was a calculated, planned, implemented process of scapegoating, othering and dehumanizing. ” – so beautifully shared its continuing effect on humanity – “With tears in our eyes, tears in our hearts and tears on our cheeks we remember the holocaust as a tribute to the lives of 6 million Jews and millions of others whose suffering and the suffering of their loved ones are not – CANNOT – be forgotten” – and, offered insightful guidance to ensure that we all do our part in preventing it from ever happening again – “It is said so beautifully that rather than curse the darkness we must light a candle. Here, while we certainly can and should curse the evil and darkness that led to the Holocaust, we must also ensure that we are lighting bright candles of light, candles of oneness, togetherness, love and understanding in our world. In fact, let us not only light candles, but let us all become and BE the light that dispels the darkness of ignorance and hatred. The light that reminds us – NEVER AGAIN.”
Take the time to watch…to listen…and, to HEAR Sadhviji’s moving tribute and loving encouragement as we remember…
