Satsang: Dealing with a Cold-Hearted & Emotionally Unavailable Person Who Happens to Be Me

The first question tonight comes from a global family member living abroad who shares how terrified she is because she has realised that she is completely alone – no friends, no family! And, she worries that there will be no one to care for her if something happens. In response, Sadhviji shares that we are never alone – God is always with us! She also cautions us not to have a relationship – of whatever kind – simply because we don’t want to be alone! You deserve better than that!

Then, a family member in the Sacred Garden wants to know how to deal with someone that is cold-hearted and emotionally unavailable – and, that person is him! In a series of questions, Sadhviji discovers that – rather than being cold-hearted, the fact that he is finding joy in feeding cows proves that his heart is opening. Now, she says, just let it continue to blossom! And, stop basing your identity on what people tell you. When we do that, our identity becomes wrapped-up in someone else’s agenda!

Next, another family member in the garden asks about the Hindu tradition of women not attending Pujas when menstruating. Why, she wants to know, does this happen. Sadhviji uses her wealth of experience on the subject to explain the history of the tradition – it’s NOT because women are unclean – as well as the way things have changed in the years that she’s been in India.
