True compassion is rooted in deep connection
Sadhviji reminds us that compassion reconnects us to the world. She encourages us to be compassionate rather than sympathizing in circumstances of need. It is better to lend a helping hand, and doing everything in your power to help another individual rather than giving them sympathy and pity. The concept of feeling higher because you are “‘giver'” is not the right and often can disconnect an individual. This is because this can cause a separation which is a component of disconnection. Compassion can unite the giver and the receiver, and can lead to a better feeling of connection to the spiritual world.
