Detaching from Suffering : Attaching to Dharma
Sadhvi Bhagwatiji speaks of the concept of detachment and how it is misunderstood. It’s a detachment from that which is keeping us from being free and from fulfilling our dharma, not detachment as a blanket answer to everything, that is the key.
She explains the practice of non-attachment and the goal of fulfilling the highest of who we are. Through examples and engaging stories, she helps us understand how this practice helps to free us and how to differentiate between the vehicles that take you to the destination from that which obstructs our path to the destination. She emphasizes that detachment can not be seen in a vaccuum and urges us to keep flying!
Then she says that are also those who are neither materialistic nor spiritual, but who see and respect Him simply because He is so completely dedicated to the service of His world family – humans, animals, nature and more. Those who just see how His every breathe and every moment is in the service of humanity have deep respect and reverence for this because most of us think only for ourselves, therefore He to them symbols the highest that we should strive for in our lives.
