Sadhviji’s Divine Satsang: The Teacher or the Teaching and a Double Dose of Mother Ganga!

Tonight’s beautiful Divine Satsang led by Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawatiji focused on teachings and, by God’s grace, on Mother Ganga, as also happened during tonight’s Sacred Ganga Aarti!

A question from one of our global family members abroad wondered which was more important – the teacher, or the teaching. As Sadhviji so beautifully shared, sometimes we have a teacher that gives no lessons; sometimes, lessons are imparted without the teacher ever saying a word. But, however the teaching is received, that’s all that matters.

Speaking of teachings, next up were two questions about HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji’s powerful teaching that “Ganga is Ganga!” Responding to the first question, Sadhviji reminds us that Mother Ganga is not a “Get Out of Jail Free” card, absolving us of all of our transgressions while allowing us to go out and repeat them. To the second, Sadhviji relates the story of Pujya Swamiji’s first teaching of this brilliant lesson, and how – through the years – Ganga’s power has infused and informed her life…a constant presence that continues, moment-by-moment, to wash away all the bits and pieces that diminish the connection to the Divine!
