What to do when we feel really stuck, hopeless, depressed and there seems to be nowhere to turn? It’s hard to know what to do to get yourself out of it. In fact, sometimes trying to get unstuck actually makes us even more stuck! And, then what do you do?
In this inspiring teaching, on the first day of Mental Health Awareness month, Sadhviji shares that the first thing you must do is NOT beat yourself up about being depressed and miserable! So sadly, many of us make our depression so much worse by beating ourselves up about it. We berate ourselves, yelling internally that we’re useless and worthless and that nothing will ever go right for us. That does NOT help! In fact, that type of thinking just beats us down even more – and, takes away the little bit of energy that we might have had to get ourselves going again. So, instead have compassion for yourself!
