Ganesh Chaturthi – Ganesha In Our Homes
During this sacred time of Ganesh Chaturthi when we bring Ganesha into our homes with such joy, Sadhviji shares with us an inspiring message about Lord Ganesha.
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most-beloved holy days in the Hindi tradition. It honours the beloved son of Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha or Ganapati, the Divine remover of obstacles and bestower of auspiciousness.
In the sacred Ganga Aarti, Sadhviji shares a profound teaching which takes us deeper than we usually go on this holiday: “We are so happy to have Ganeshji in our homes to remove the obstacles in our life. Remember, though, we think that most obstacles are outside of us. So we ask Ganeshji to get rid of him or her, this or that. But, in so many cases, the problem isn’t outside us – it’s inside us. The mind is the key to whether we’ll be miserable or joyful. So, on this Ganesh Chaturthi, instead of only asking Lord Ganesha to remove the perceived obstacles outside of us, let us ask him to remove our the obstacles in our own mind, as well. Let us ask him to remove the fear and the anger and the stress and the grudges that cause our suffering.”
