Janmashtami: The Gift Krishna Truly Wants
Janmashtami: The Gift Krishna Truly Wants
Happy Janmashtami! On this sacred day we celebrate the day Bhagawan Krishna appeared on earth. But how to celebrate? How to honor the Divine in form? Krishna doesn’t want our cake, candles, or rituals — just our courage.
When Arjuna froze in fear on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, ready to run away, Krishna told him: “Stand up. Be fearless. Restore the dharma.” That call was not only for Arjuna — it is for each of us today.
In a world filled with darkness — war, injustice, inequality, climate crisis — it’s tempting to turn away. But Krishna’s message is clear: Do not look away. Stay grounded in Me, grounded in divine connection and act. Act from truth, compassion, and love, not from fear or anger. Face the darkness outside and within — the judgment, resentment, jealousy — and bring light to the darkness.
This Janmashtami, let’s sing bhajans with love and swing His jhula — but let’s also commit to offering Krishna what He truly wants: our fearless dedication to restoring Dharma — integrity, peace, love, compassion, oneness, equality, justice! That is the greatest gift we can give Him.
