Day 5 of Navratri: Divine Mother? Or Fierce Warrior? Be Both.

Ma Skandamata is not only the mother of the warrior Kartikeya, the brother of Lord Ganesha — she is a fierce warrior herself. Worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri, she rides into battle on a lion with baby Kartikeya in her arms, embodying both tenderness and power in a way that is deeply Divine.

For all the women — and all beings — trying to find the balance between softness and strength, nurturing and courage, she shows the way. Her love is not weakness; it is a sword of compassion, righteousness, and dharma. She reminds us: we don’t have to choose between being kind or being strong. The Divine Feminine is both.

On this sacred day, we anchor ourselves in the Vishuddha Chakra — the throat chakra — the energy center of truth and purification. It’s the space where self-expression is often blocked by fear, doubt, or self-consciousness. Ma Skandamata clears that space. She empowers us to speak with love, to stand for truth, and to wield our words as tools of light.

So today, let your voice be heard — not in anger, not in fear, but as a beautiful, bold sword of truth, compassion, and divine courage.

We chant together her sacred mantra:
ॐ स्कन्दमातर्यै नमः
Om Skandamataryai Namah

Let this mantra awaken the Divine Mother within you — strong, loving, and fearless.
