LIVE Satsang with Sadhviji

In tonight’s Divine LIVE Satsang from the Sacred Garden at Parmarth Niketan, HH Param Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji and Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati respond to questions from our global family with answers that take us deeper into our spiritual path.

Tonight’s first question involves names, and how one goes about obtaining a spiritual name. Sadhviji beautifully shares that “a spiritual name is a constant reminder that you are divine. Even though we don’t believe that we are our bodies – or, that we are any of the things that define us – as we walk the path of spirituality – knowing we are not the body – we can have an identity, a name, that reminds us of our divine qualities. So, if you’re having thoughts about it, then definitely do it! It’s a tradition that I love!”

Next, paap kya hai? What is sin? Sadhviji shares that In the western tradition, the belief is that the core of who we are is sin, and we engage in a spiritual programme to be saved from our own sinful self. In Hinduism, however, we believe that the core of who we are is divine. Paap is not because we are a sinner. Paap is because we are ignorant. Our power of discrimination was overcome by Maya, and we lost sight of the truth.

Finally, Param Pujya Swamiji joins the discourse, saying people have always wanted to know what sin is, since the days of the great saints and sages. “It’s very simple,” Pujya Swamiji says. “Helping someone is the merit, and hurting someone is the sin.” And, he beautifully reminds us that if we want love and hugs in the afterlife, we need to give love and hugs today! Watch and listen to his divine inspiration!
