Sadhviji’s Divine LIVE Satsang

In tonight’s Divine LIVE Satsang from the Sacred Garden at Parmarth Niketan, Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati ji responds to questions from our global family with answers that take us deeper into our spiritual path.

Our first question comes from a global family member here at the Ashram who wants to know why whenever she meets enlightened souls, tears flow down her face and she is tongue-tied. In response, Sadhviji reminds us that questions come from the mind – it’s the only thing that questions things…the only thing that is affected by it. The mind is where all of the thinking takes place. So while the heart feels things, the mind then questions why you’re feeling them. And, the mind sees only separation – so, it’s looking for things to keep us apart. So, imagine – your heart opens when you meet a guru, and your emotions swell…and, the brain just doesn’t know how to handle it. So, it questions it.

Next, a family member in the Sacred Garden asks how a person can work on his anger if he doesn’t even recognize that he’s angry. Watch and listen as Sadhviji lets us know how.

Then, another member in the Garden wants to hear Sadhviji’s experience with bhakti yoga – the path of devotion. In answering, she relates a story of a trip that she took with Param Pujya Swamiji to a Krishna event in Vrindavan – an event that was a far cry from the religious experiences that she had in her youth in America. And, an event that was so filled with love of God…so ecstatic that she wasn’t even connecting with her body. This was the beginning of bhakti for Sadhviji!

Finally, why can’t I see what I want in meditation? Sadhviji tells us that the mind is filled with whatever we put in it. So, in meditation, when something comes to mind, it’s because we’ve let it in. Which is why, she says, fasting doesn’t just mean to not take food into our stomach – it means to not take things that will disrupt the peace in our mind and our heart.
