Sadhviji’s Divine LIVE Satsang

“Is duty towards one’s self higher than duty to others?” That’s tonight’s first question from a family member in the Satsang Room, and Sadhviji responds by sharing that when we talk about serving others, it’s physical – making sure they’re okay; the other is spiritual. But, our duty is never to subjugate our dharma to keep someone else from being uncomfortable. We’re all here to get closer to God, and to help others get closer, too.

Sadhviji also takes a moment to share with us the importance of mindfulness, thanks to the myriad distractions that present themselves during the course of every moment – and, in the Satsang Room! We have control over our minds, and it is up to each of us to exercise that control – distractions aren’t going anywhere! Be mindful of how quickly we lose our focus – then, you can begin to exercise control.

Then, how do we combine spirituality with our everyday lives, especially after we leave the grace of the Ashram and Rishikesh. First, Sadhviji encourages us to make sure that the transformation we encounter through the Ashram experience is deep-seeded to make sure that it lasts. Then, in your “regular” life, find a way to reconnect with the person that you were while you were here.

Finally, what are the different levels of devtas and gods, and what do they represent? Succinctly, it doesn’t matter. Human, devtas, Supreme Being…they all represent and are a part of the Divine. They just represent higher levels of consciousness.
