Why Do We Perform Rituals on Navaratri?

It’s the sacred time of Navratri – the 9 nights (and days!) dedicated to the worship of the Mother Goddess. During Navaratri, we perform many sacred rituals dedicated to the different forms of the Mother Goddess. We fast, take part in pujas, read the sacred scriptures, listen to the recitation of the Ramayana, chant mantras, go into silence and even wear different colors to reflect the different energies of each day.
