World Environment Day in the Temple of the Redwoods
It was such a joy to celebrate world environment day at one of my favorite places in the world: Muir Woods! It is the sacred Temple of the redwood forest in the north San Francisco bay area. It is also the place where, in 1945, more than 500 delegates from 46 countries came and confirmed their commitment to forming the United Nations and also to protecting and preserving our natural world. It was a perfect place to join and prayers and pledges on this United Nations day for the environment. We joined together in a cozy, intimate Covid-safe group in prayer, song and meditation. Beloved Jai Uttal let us enchanting and Nubia shared a beautiful prayer of the Amazon. Beloved friend and world renowned author and speaker Marci Shimoff shared beautiful words about the message of the redwoods. On this important day, let us remember we are not separate from the earth. We are as interlinked and interconnected with every leaf, every tree, every blade of grass, every drop of water as we are with the very breath in our own lungs and the very cells of our own blood.
