What Values Should We Impart on Our Children?

Raising children is an enormous responsibility – one that affects not just the family and society but, truly, the entire world. There is no shortage on books and methods on how best raise children, but it still remains confusing. Do we teach them to be independent or reliant on others? Compassionate or judgemental? Giving or selfish? And, what IS the most important value that we should share with our children to make sure that they live a full and successful life?

In this teaching in the presence of HH Param Pujya Swamiji, Sadhviji shares that the most important value that we can impart on our children is the knowledge of who they are as divine beings. With this knowledge, she shares, we no longer have to believe that what we do determines our worthiness…that if we don’t succeed, we’re worthless and unworthy of love. And, knowing that we are worthy just as we are is a value we can truly treasure.
