Why Do We Do Durga Puja?

Do We Remember the Goddess Every Day?

On this sacred day of Durga Ashtami, devotees across India and the world worship the Mother Goddess in the form of Maa Mahagauri. One beautiful tradition is Kanya Puja — inviting young girls, dressing them, feeding them, and honoring them as the living embodiment of the Goddess.

But Pujya Sadhviji reminds us: if we can worship girls as the Goddess today, how can we forget that they are the Goddess every day of the year? Every daughter, sister, mother, wife, and woman in our lives carries that same divine presence.

✨ What does it mean to honor the Divine Mother?
✨ How do we treat women and girls in our homes, workplaces, and communities?
✨ Can we learn to celebrate the feminine — not just in ritual, but in respect, equality, and love?

🌸 Today as we worship the Goddess, let us remember to honor, protect, and revere her in every form — in our families, our society, and in Mother Earth herself.
